Introducing Balance

Why we are building a calmer, more private way to manage money, and what you can expect from the app in its first release.

Money apps should lower your heart rate

Most people do not need another dashboard full of red numbers. They need a clear picture of where their money goes, a plan they can actually keep, and a little reassurance that they are moving in the right direction. That is the gap Balance is built to fill.

We set out to design a personal finance app that feels quiet. No flashing red numbers, no guilt trips, no upsells hiding behind every tap. Gentle streaks and challenges are there if you want them, and easy to ignore if you do not. Just your accounts, your budgets and your goals, presented in a way that is easy to understand at a glance.

What Balance does

Balance brings your spending, budgets and savings goals into one place. You can see your month at a glance, set limits by category, and track progress toward the things you are saving for. Insights are written in plain language, so you never need to decode a chart to understand what changed.

Budgets in Balance are designed to adapt to real life. If a category runs hot one month, the app helps you notice early and adjust, rather than simply telling you that you failed. Savings goals work the same way: set a target and a date, turn on round-ups if you like (Balance counts the spare change toward your goal; no money moves), and watch the progress build.

Balance never connects to your bank. Your transactions come from a statement file you import (CSV, or the Excel export from your Israeli bank or card company), from Apple Pay or card SMS through an iPhone Shortcut, from a scanned receipt, or from a quick note you type, and Balance cannot move money. That boundary is deliberate.

Private by design

Balance is free to use. Balance Plus, an optional subscription for people who want AI answers and a few extras, is the only way we make money. We do not run ads, and we do not sell your data. When a business model depends on your attention or your information, the product slowly bends toward collecting more of both. We would rather earn your trust and keep it.

You stay in control of what you add and what is stored. Our Data & permissions page explains exactly what Balance can access and why, in plain words.

What comes next

This is the beginning. Over the coming months we will keep refining budgets, insights and goals based on feedback from the people who use it. We will share what we are working on here on the blog, alongside practical money guides that are useful whether or not you use our app.

If you have feedback, ideas or questions, we would genuinely like to hear them. Our contact page lists the best way to reach us.
